Born 1956 in Vienna, 1990 - 1995 Consul General in Cracow, 1995 - 1999 Director of the Austrian Cultural Institute in London, 1999 - 2002 Director of the Department "General Programming" in the Cultural Section of the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, at present Director General for Cultural Politics in the Austrian Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Secretary General of the Austrian Research Association and Vice Chairman of the Institute for Danubian and Central European Affairs. Many publications on Austrian and Central European history.
