Angelika Eder urodziła się w 1964 roku w Monachium. Studiowała historię i literaturę niemiecką we Freiburgu i Hamburgu, w 1997 roku obroniła doktorat z historii (Flüchtige Heimat. Jüdische Displaced Persons in Landsberg am Lech 1945-1950). Od 1993 roku związana z Goethe-Institut w Monachium, Iserlohn i Budapeszcie. W latach 1994-96 wykładała na Uniwersytecie w Liverpool, 1996-2002 w Forschungsstelle für Zeitgeschichte w Hamburgu, gdzie opublikowała m.in.: Wir sind auch da, über das Leben von und mit Migranten in europäischen Großstädten (Hamburg 2003). Od 2002 roku ponownie związana z Goethe-Institut. Od 2005 roku dyrektor Goethe-Institut w Krakowie.
Angelika Eder was born in 1964 in Munich. She studied history and German literature in Freiburg and Hamburg. In 1997 she received a PhD in history (Publication 1998: Flüchtige Heimat. Jüdische Displaced Persons in Landsberg am Lech 1945-1950). 1993/4 at the Goethe-Institut in Munich, Iserlohn and Budapest, 1994-96 DAAD-Lektorin at the University of Liverpool, 1996-2002 at the Forschungsstelle für Zeitgeschichte in Hamburg (amongst other publications: Angelika Eder (ed.), Wir sind auch da, über das Leben von und mit Migranten in europäischen Großstädten, Hamburg 2003). Since 2002 working again at the Goethe-Institut, since 2005 director of the Goethe-Institut in Kraków.
